INTERRELIGIOUS DIALOGUE

INTERRELIGIOUS DIALOGUE

Through projects and partnerships, primarily in Syria, Lebanon and Egypt, Danmission and its partners are promoting the role of interreligious dialogue as bridge-builder in order to create greater social coherence and support peace between and within the Danish and Arab communities.

The overall focus of Danmission’s dialogue programme is to promote mutual understanding, social cohesion and peacebuilding through the involvement of young leaders, in particular, in dialogue work and by promoting an inclusive democracy and social cohesion through cooperation with faith-based organisations and institutions.

Danmission focuses particularly on Syria in order to establish a platform for peaceful dialogue and confidence-building between civil society activists and religious leaders and to maintain Christian – Muslim dialogue and coexistence.

In addition, Danmission provides humanitarian assistance to the Syrian population through Danmission’s Lebanese partner, which has a large network among religious groups in Syria.
