Do you want to create peace and dialogue in and between Denmark and the Middle East?

Call for Applications for the 2016 Leaders for Interreligious Understanding (LIU) program is now open.

The “Leaders for Interreligious Understanding” (LIU) program is a Danish-Arab Training Program for young professionals from Denmark, Egypt, Lebanon, Jordan and Syria on the role of religion and interreligious dialogue in building peace and social cohesion within and between their societies.

The program represents collaboration between 5 partner organizations and it is funded by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Denmark in the framework of the Danish Arab Partnership program. It is based on an integrative and cross-cultural methodology of dialogue and learning process, combining face- to-face seminars, online courses and concrete initiatives and activities designed and implemented by the Trainees themselves, within their own social and professional networks.

100 leaders have already completed the program in its three editions (2012, 2013, 2014), and this is a call for the 30 new participants to join the program aiming at fostering social resilience against extremism in Denmark, Lebanon, Syria, Jordan and Egypt.

The partners

Adyan – Lebanon
The Coptic Evangelical Organization for Social Services (CEOSS) – Egypt
Danmission – Denmark
The Forum for Development, Culture and Dialogue (FDCD) – Lebanon and Syria
Royal Institute for Interfaith Studies (RIIFS) – Jordan
